LMI/Pathways Information Sessions

A Foundation for Future Careers

LMI/PATHWAYS INFORMATION SESSIONS

Why it’s Important

Young people need to know about what jobs are out there, key sectors that will allow them to thrive and grow towards successful futures. Our informative, engaging sessions on local labour market information and pathways will empower young people to make informed choices for their futures.

We work with a wide range of local employers to ensure that the information and advice your students are receiving is up to date and relevant to your pupils’ needs.

All activities are mapped against the Gatsby Benchmarks, CDI Framework, Skills Builder Framework, CEC Employer Standards and areas of Curriculum learning – please contact us about an activity to learn more.

KEY INFORMATION FOR CAREER LEADERS

How NYBEP Can Support You

Exploring Pathways

This session’s aim is to broaden the students’ knowledge of different pathways into employment and Further and Higher Education; it is also an opportunity for employers to inform students of the skills and attributes that employers are looking for.

Students will be split (dependent on cohort size) into 5 or 6 groups and visit a carousel of 5 or 6 sessions over the course of the event. The sessions will provide information on pathways into FE and HE as well as inform students of various different employment pathways. One of the sessions will be a ’mini careers fair’, employers will be invited to have a stand and students will use this as an opportunity to investigate a variety of job roles and the employers own progression routes.

What’s Stopping You? – Words from Inspirational Speakers

By recounting their personal anecdotes, challenges overcome, and triumphs achieved, inspirational speakers prompt students to reflect on their own career aspirations and consider any potential obstacles they may face along the way. Through thoughtful storytelling and open discussions, students are encouraged to examine their own dreams and aspirations, identifying any obstacles that may be hindering their path to success. This motivating sparks self-reflection and encourages students to take proactive steps towards fulfilling their career goals.

Careers Fair Support

NYBEP will deliver a Careers Fair in your school, with employer numbers set against numbers of cohorts and facilities available. These sessions allow students to interact with a wide range of employers and Post-16/Post-18 providers, including apprenticeship providers and independent training providers, as well as HE and FE institutions.

ASK sessions

ASK is a funded opportunity for Year 10s and above to receive information about apprenticeships and technical qualifications. These are funded and supported by the Dept for Education and allows your pupils to understand about apprenticeships and technical qualifications, the opportunities and benefits of this pathway and localised information for your students. ASK encounters also count towards your Provider Access Legislation for Year 10 – Year 13.
