We would like to invite your organisation to provide an exhibition stand at ‘Successful Futures’ on Wednesday 7th March 2018. This is the second event of its kind, following on from the successful pilot in 2017. The event has been funded by the Scarborough Pledge and is the result of student voice feedback from young people on the Coast. The Scarborough Pledge is a commitment by the Local Authority, Schools and employers to work together to improve prospects for young people on the Coast. Further information about the Scarborough Pledge can be found here – http://www.northyorks.gov.uk/recruitment/ad_cyps/docs/Scarborough%20Pledge.pdf
During NATIONAL CAREERS WEEK – Wednesday 7th March 2018 at Coventry University Scarborough, Ashburn Road, Off Valley Road, Scarborough, YO11 2JW.
For students aged from 11 – 16 years on the North Yorkshire Coast.
Aims of the Event
This event has been planned using student voice feedback collected during the Autumn term. The primary aim is to inform and enthuse young people about the employment and training opportunities on the Coast. Through our student voice research, young people told us they would like to find out more about Apprenticeships, FE, HE and have the opportunity to talk to local and national employers on a 1-2-1 basis. Using this feedback we have designed a careers event to encompass this.
Format of the day:
Schools are invited to attend one the following timeslots:
- 9:30am – 11:30am
- 11am – 1pm
- 12:30pm – 2:30pm
Each session will include short talks on FE, HE and Apprenticeships before visiting the Careers Zone where employers, training providers, Colleges and Universities will be providing exhibition stands.
