International Women’s Day is coming the 8th March

To celebrate International Women’s Day we are showcasing for the first time a portfolio of ‘real world’ examples which features women in prominent STEM based roles, created by NYBEP, through an ESF funded, co-financed by the Education and Skills Funding Agency and part of a Skills Support for the Workforce programme delivered by Calderdale College on behalf of the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership, aimed at encouraging more female students into STEM Based careers by giving them a glimpse into the variety of Science, Technology and Engineering careers available to them.

40 Women in STEM roles from across York and North Yorkshire contributed by sharing their progression pathway, their skills and their plans for their future.

Nicola Morris, Sirius Minerals – Do what you enjoy, you spend so much time at work so spend doing something you enjoy.  I put too much pressure on myself when I was younger to find my path.  You can find your way once you are on it.

Hannah Magowan, Engineer, Dale Power – Apprenticeships are a great way to start your career, gain qualifications and valuable experience, making you very employable.
