Just a few highlights of 2016

As you are winding down for the well-deserved Christmas break we thought it would be a good time to share with you some of our highlights of this very busy term:

September kicked off with us supporting Tees Valley Combined Authority with the delivery of the Tees Valley Skills Show which was attended by over 1800 students from around 23 schools and involved over 70 exhibitors made up of businesses, education and training providers.

We launched our Successful Futures programme to over 100 delegates at our annual expert seminar – Successful Futures

We also launched the brand new Drax STEM Challenge to schools – a £10,000 investment fund is available to turn winning ideas into life.

October/November played host to Tomorrow’s Engineers Week and us supporting Scarborough Business Ambassadors to deliver their annual three day event, Scarborough Engineering Week – supported by local and national employers such as Sirius Minerals, McCains GB Food, Dale Power, BAE Systems, Severfield, 600 UK, Festo, Fanuc, Unison Ltd, Castle Group, Le Grand, Plaxtons, Firmac, Schneider Electric, Army, Navy, RAF, James Fischer Nuclear, Third Energy, Derwent Training, P1 Boats, York, North Yorkshire and East Riding LEP, North Yorkshire County Council and many more.

We even managed to get a seaplane into the event, just!

The event attracted over 2500 students from 33 schools.

November was Global Entrepreneurship week, over five days we delivered enterprise, careers and skills focussed events in 7 schools to over 2000 students.

December we organised on behalf of North Yorkshire County Council the North Yorkshire Coast Opportunities Area Consultation, over 110 delegates attended and had their say.

We found out that we were successful in receiving a grant of £25k from the NatWest Skills and Opportunities fund to develop and roll out our Successful Financial Futures programme – thank you to those who voted for us.

In this first term of 2016 we have worked with 86 schools, engaged 6288 students  in events and programmes that were supported by 226 Employers.

Thank you so much to all those that have supported this term and we look forward to working with you in 2017.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at NYBEP.
