Springboard’s Future Chef offers a portfolio of resources and activities mapped to Food Technology curriculum areas. These are backed by industry professionals and are designed to help teachers deliver outstanding food technology lessons which inspire young people aged 12-16 to develop their cooking skills and understand nutrition. We have introduced new video resources and class activities. These are designed to develop students’ technical skills and introduce them to the fantastic opportunities the wider hospitality industry has to offer. Last year over 9,000 students and 700 schools participated in FutureChef. As well as FutureChef’s rich array of teaching resources and student activities, the long established competition element sees students cook under timed conditions in school heats and local and regional finals to produce professional standard dishes which were judged by industry professionals.
By registering to participate you and your students can benefit from a suite of resources, fully embedded within the curriculum, including:
• Chef demos & skills challenges
• Video resources with professional tips
• Visits and taster days
• Career presentations
• Student programme awards
• The National FutureChef Competition
Please find a teacher’s promotional flyer which outlines how to get involved and a poster to display in your school.
Springboard is the leading hospitality charity that offers you FutureChef. It’s entirely FREE to access and all you need to do is register your school to take advantage of these resources which are designed to help teachers deliver and students learn.
