NYBEP is an education business partnership with a 25-year track record of successfully engaging employers in education.

Our Successful Futures programme is aimed at helping young people to acquire the skills and knowledge that prepare them for the workplace and inspire them to plan for and achieve a successful future.

NYBEP supports work experience placements for thousands of young people aged 14-19 every year. Having worked in York and North Yorkshire for many years, recent expansion into the North East means that we are looking for additional capacity within the team.


Work Experience Co-ordinator 
c £18-21k per annum plus benefits (depending on experience)

This role oversees and advises schools on the delivery of their 14-19 work experience programmes, ensuring all work experience placements comply with local/national guidelines.

You will need to develop and maintain excellent relationships with providers and offer bespoke support/advice to ensure timely booking of placements. Your excellent attention to detail will ensure that accurate records are kept on the on-line database of around c.11,000 work experience placements.

In addition, you will support and where necessary, deliver training to new school Work Experience Co-ordinators on the use of the website and NYBEP’s health and safety service.

You will ideally have a background which demonstrates and understanding of young people, schools and the needs of employers. This role requires a conscientious individual with excellent organisational skills who can work using their own initiative. First-rate communication and IT skills are essential together with the ability to work to conflicting priorities at peak times, with confidence and accuracy.

This is an extremely varied and challenging role, ideally suited to someone who is highly motivated, who has great customer skills and who can work at pace.


Work Experience Broker

c £17k per annum plus benefits

This role will primarily support the brokerage of student work experience placements between schools, other educational establishments and employers, but will also involve engaging employers in support of all NYBEP delivery.

In addition to using existing information and contacts, you will be required to research additional occupational/geographical areas in order to further build our database of prospective employers willing to take on work experience students or actively engage with local schools. Your sensitive, but persuasive ‘sales’ skills, will be needed when directly contacting the employers and matching students to the placements.

In order to source and secure active employer engagement, the successful applicant will need to have plenty of confidence, with a personable disposition and a persuasive personality.

It’s also important to be resilient, in order to deal with negative responses from people who might not want to talk to you!  Above all, you must enjoy the buzz of working in a fast-paced environment that involves meeting targets and working under pressure.
